Elizabeth's dog Dixie is very lonely. Elizabeth and her family have decided to get Dixie a new friend but they need your help. Dixie is a two year old German Hunting Terrier who loves to run and play outside. Being a hunting dog, she needs to be taken out for daily walks since she has a lot of energy when not hunting. She weighs 17 pounds and is about 16 inches tall. Dixie is friendly and loves to cuddle, but is also very protective.
We need your help in finding a new friend for Dixie.

Each group has been assigned a breed of dog.
Within each group, each student will be assigned a specific mission.
The first mission will be to research and write a description of the breed as well as life expectancy.
The second mission will be to find the breed's origin, height and weight.
The third mission will be to find the breed's temperament and living conditions necessary.
The fourth and final mission will be to find the breed's potential health problems, grooming and exercise needs.
After all the research has been finished, the breed groups will construct a persuasive essay to convince Elizabeth that their breed will make a good friend for Dixie. The group should also create a poster which they will present to Elizabeth as they try to convince her their breed is the best.
